Critical Links is an appliance software company and provider of edgeBOX, a multi-function business gateway that consolidates data, voice and IT services for small and medium sized businesses. We are looking for a Usability Engineer to work in Coimbra, Portugal.

Responsibilities:

Design and validate edgeBOX's user interface, as well as general usability testing. Will work with end users and developers to determine product requirements and design details using user oriented design methodologies. Will also design and implement automated tests against web based graphical user interfaces.

Qualifications and Experience:

Engineering academic degree and relevant professional experience.

Required skills are:

• Good knowledge of general networking concepts
• Good understanding of current usability tendencies
• Strong interface design skills
• Strong understanding of prototyping with HTML and CSS
• Good communication skills, both Portuguese and English
• Good writing skills and meticulous attention to detail would be a plus
• Knowledge of task analysis, task flows, and design documentation

Critical Links is an appliance software company and provider of edgeBOX, a multi-function business gateway that consolidates data, voice and IT services for small and medium sized businesses.Engineer to work in Coimbra, Portugal.

Responsibilites:

Technical Support for edgeBOX and associated software. Also support for office infrastructure. There will be a requirement for 24hr emergency callout on a rota basis. It is anticipated that there will be a need for occasional foreign travel.

Qualifications & Experience:

Engineering academic degree and relevant professional experience.

Required Skills are:

• Strong technical understanding of Unix commands and Networks
• Good understanding of the following: Apache, VoIP, SMTP, DNS, VPN, Security.
• Good Troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Must have very good oral communication skills (English and Portuguese)
• Strong ability to write technical documentation in English or Portuguese
